Onward to October

from Sam Sarver

Happy October, everybody! Wow this year has gone by fast! September came and went. We did a lot of writing and pre-production on some shows. We’ve had some schedule changes, some life changes, and other such fun stuff this month, but everything is moving along well for us. A few of us visited Extremicon this last month and got to meet up with a lot of our favorite con folks! We’re having a lot of fun with out new OOPS writing team. Th Written & the Lost is up to some absolutely crazy stuff in our recordings, and in the latest releases, the team is about to all reunite!

With October upon us, spooky season has started. We’re not sure if we’ll have anything specific coming out for spooky season this year, but I’ll be guesting over on a few other channels for horror fun, and if you’re in the Springfield area, I’ll be running a Delta Green game on Halloween at the Roll For Ghoul Charity event. It’s gonna be a fun 7 hour game! As always, keep an eye on the Discord and socials for surprise announcements!

Oh, and one last thing, in regards to Atomic Chat, I’ve been trying to make the Atomic Chat a monthly habit talking about the business and just chilling with people, but I’ve found that between the business of the podcasts and life in general (and how often we have business updates), monthly isn’t the best format for it right now. Maybe later on we’ll go back to it. For now, I’ll update everyone when we are going to do a stream if one comes up.

Thank you all for being a wonderful part of this community; enjoy the cooler season; and have an Atomic Time!

Cast Corner: Fall

from Abby

By now, they’ve told us it’s fall, admittedly my favorite season of all four. The fall equinox has come and gone, and we should be enjoying cooler, crisp nights - maybe sitting on the front porch with a hot cup of something or curled up on the couch with a cozy blanket and indie folk music playing in the background. I’ve always been a sucker for cozy - it’s my favorite state of being. I love to wrap myself in a warm blanket and pretend I’m living in a video game where the world outside is warm fall colors and shedding leaves. However, if you live in the Ozarks, these types of falls are not common. We usually get one week of fall before 4th Summer comes or Winter enters the room with Jack Frost-esque energy. Specifically the Jack Frost from The Santa Clause 3. He was pretty extra.

I’ll admit, I’m a basic white girl with the pumpkin spiced everything. Even the wall plug-in is spiced and cinnamon coated. But, there’s got to be something with the cinnamon-vibes, right? Why does it immediately make me want to curl up on my couch with a blanket and a pumpkin spice latte, fresh from my espresso machine? There’s gotta be something to it, right?

Maybe it’s wishful thinking - somehow forcing it to be fall outside even though summer is hanging on with the last of its strength. Maybe it’s somehow nostalgic - the smell of apple pies cooking in my mama’s kitchen. Whatever the reason, it’s always welcome, and I soak it up while I can. Here’s wishing you a cozy fall, whether you enjoy pumpkin spice or you shake your head at the craze. Everyone deserves some coziness in their life. May you find a warm fire and friendship in the coming season.
Thanks for supporting us in any way you can.
We love the community that we are seeing grow, and we hope to see more and more of you!
