Aftermath of May

from Sam Sarver

Howdy everyone! Wow! What a crazy month it’s been! If you’ve been keeping up, you know what I mean; if you haven’t, lemme tell ya. Tremendicon 2026 just happened. We are big fans of this con. In 2024, we tabled at our first convention: Tremendicon. So when we were planning to put together art, shirts, stickers and merch in general, we knew we wanted to start it at Tremendicon. These last few weeks have been a blur as we finished up design work, got all of our merch in the house, got our business license all together (far too much waiting time!), and prepped for our first panel hosteding. But the weekend is now done; Tremendicon has come to an end. I am tired, and yet I still want to be at the con with everyone. If you’re new to the newsletter from Tremendicon: Hi! We are happy you’re here. Welcome to the community! It was wonderful meeting you all!
Atomic Broadcasting table at Tremendicon 2026
Now, let’s chat about what’s been going on in Atomic Broadcasting land. This month on The Written & the Lost our party has split up! For the next little while, episodes will only include part of our cast as our two groups follow their own plot lines along. Things get pretty crazy, and a lot of secrets are revealed, so buckle in and get ready!

Hopefully you have all seen that our new scripted audio show, O.O.P.S (Official Oddity Problem Specialists), has begun releasing! Two episodes are out now and more will release every Thursday for the next 9 weeks! If you are unfamiliar with the premise, this show is a comedy using horror tropes to tell outlandish stories. O.O.P.S is an anonymous government agency best described as an OSHA for the supernatural. When the creatures of the night make a problem or run into one themselves, O.O.P.S is called! This is a show we’ve been working on the last 5 years! It was written before The Written & The Lost began, and now, thanks to the amazing Luna Cooper, it has been edited and brought before your ears! Enjoy.

One last note: our merch. We have T-shirts available to all right now at the Threads Collab (https://thethreadscollab.com/collections/atomic-broadcasting). Threads Collab is a locally based, on demand printer but will ship to anyone listening. We have some other items we debuted at Tremendicon as well: stickers sheets, postcards, posters, CDs for House on Valley Lane and for Records of the Unknown season 1, and even an O.O.P.S button. For now, we unfortunately don’t have a way to get all of that to anyone who isn’t in our local area. This is something I will be looking into as we would love for everyone to have an opportunity to share in the fun. So keep tuning in for any additional updates!

Until next time dear friends and listeners. Have an Atomic Time!

Cast Corner: Weathering Storms

from Olivia
There were storms this weekend. Rain thundering down on pedestrians, cars, and convention center alike. Near the end of the day for Tremendicon’s vendor hall, many attendees, vendors, and guests were eyeing the doors, calculating if they would be able to make it home not completely soaked. A few lights faded out then came back on, but someone may have simply leaned on a light switch.

It was drizzling by the time the vendor hall closed, card games kicked into gear, the after party exploded to life, and Sam and I decided to head home. We meandered, savoring moments to chat and say good night to vendors and staff who have become friends. We stopped for a while with a newer friend who was also leaving for the night and discussed decompression. Conventions are vibrant and exciting, but the excitement takes energy, and interacting with wave after wave of people – even wonderful creatives – builds an internal pressure by the end of day. Our conversation painted pictures of sitting on the porch, of warm cups of tea in solitude, of video games or card games with friends. Before we parted for the night, talking together became a brief shelter from the convention’s downpour of events and excitement.

The storm had died by the time we arrived home, and I was admittedly a little disappointed. Curling up by a window during a storm is a favorite of mine, but I was able to curl up in a cozy couch corner to read while Sam learned a new game with his brother. This weekend I have been at once emptied and refilled and cannot help but be in awe of the green that always flourishes in the wake of a storm.
Thanks for supporting us in any way you can.
We love the community that we are seeing grow, and we hope to see more and more of you!

All our love to you and yours,
The Atomic Broadcasting crew
