Springing into April
Wow! What a month it has been. If you’ve been keeping up with The Written and the Lost then you are probably excited, shocked, appalled, and full of questions, with (maybe) some answers - but definitely some theories - that may be closer to the truth than even Jordy realizes.

Anyway, that’s not what I’m here to talk to ya’ll about. March was so very busy for us in the dark alleys that span the labyrinth I call... Behind the Scenes. We’ve been working with a few artists on some really cool projects. If you watched the March Atomic Chat or if you hang out on Discord or one of our many (2) social media platforms than you know that we showed off incredible of all of our Written and the Lost characters! (Except for Hymir, the artist was disappointed to hear he wasn’t one of the subjects, but hey, maybe one day.) If you have not seen the all of the art yet, go to our Discord or go to our social media pages!

Uvaer by Anna Cooper of Champion Comics, 2026
|
|
The art we showed off is by Anna Cooper with Champion Comics! Her work is as amazing as she is! We met Anna and her sisters (Champion Comics) at our first con (Tremendicon 2024), and I knew right then that I wanted to work with them in some form, and here it is! So, check them out, they’ve got comics, cool art, and do commissions (I have a few on my wall, always amazing)!

We’ll have some more to show off soon. We’re getting ready to try to sell some Merch this year, the art is planned to be printed as usable postcards, because writing to people is great and you should do it more, but we’ll also have some other kinds of merch coming too. We’re looking at ways to allow ya’ll to buy them to support us when you live far, far away, but for now merch will be available at in-person events and to our Patreon supporters. If you’re on our Discord, we will try to set up some merch options for you as well. But if you want to help support us more with our endeavors, you should consider joining our Patreon. We have even more ideas that are on hold due to focusing on setting up for merch and general time constraints, so keep an eye out .

In the upcoming news: Records of the Unknown season 3 is coming along swimmingly, with a lot more character gaslighting this season than I expected; and OOPS (Official Oddity Problem Specialists) is almost done! After 5 years! I am so excited and incredibly grateful to our editor, Luna.

Thanks to all of you! Thank you for reading this newsletter; thank you for listening to our shows; thank you for being a part of the community. Whether you chat or you peacefully lurk, you help to support us, and we are blown away with all of you! We love you all. I hope you have an Atomic Time!

Cast Corner: Try Everything
If you knew me in college, you knew there were three basic things that kept me going between lectures, exams, and the many year-long projects I had as a double major: 1) Coffee, 2) Hiking, and 3) Muffins. Now, two of those three things are still true when it comes to getting me through hard weeks, but there’s one that I just can’t seem to muster up the time or energy for anymore. Hiking has taken a major backburner. My body hurts more than it used to, and my job is so physically demanding that the last thing I want to do on the weekend is go for a strenuous hike through a forest. Which makes me sad, because I still adore nature and enjoy its splendor and cortisol-reducing qualities. But my body says a rather loud “No”. This is going somewhere, I promise.

Lately, thanks to YouTube and easy access to a small, yet sturdy, espresso machine, I have gotten back into the rather extensive world of coffee. I used to be a barista, so I knew some, but I didn’t realize just how much depth there is. Measuring input and output, grind size, extraction time, WDT tools, tamps, bean storage, etc. I’m becoming more of a coffee nerd than ever, and… I’m enjoying it. I’m enjoying learning about the eccentricities of coffee, such as blooming your coffee when using a French press; how to make cold brew at home (which is much easier than I thought); and learning exactly what I need to do to prep a good puck of espresso before extraction through my machine.
|
I guess my point is, as disappointing as it is to forgo an old hobby due to time, money, or just exhaustion, it’s never too late to learn something new. Our brains are designed to hold new information and create new pathways when we obtain new skills. The brain is a muscle that needs exercise, and learning new things is how we do that. It’s okay if we aren’t good at something immediately. Failing is ultimately how we learn. My first pulls of espresso weren’t the best, but as I do more and adjust my technique, input, and gain new tools, it’s slowly improved.

Try new things, and find out what peaks your interest. And if you enjoy a good cup of joe, try things whilst caffeinated.
