The March Forward
Hello, everyone! Happy February (well, March, actually.) This last month has been really awesome! We’ve been making some crazy headway on projects and working with some artists and local creators on some really cool stuff that we’re excited to show! Later. I really want to talk about it now, but we all must wait.
It’s that kind of a month, but have you been listening to The Written and the Lost!?! It’s been crazy this year! So many plot threads are moving, and just wait until you catch up to where we are currently in recording, talk about crazy stuff!
On March 7th at the 4 by 4 Brewery - in Fremont Hills, Missouri - we’ll be at a charity event called Dungeons & Dragons for MS! If you want to attend, it’s only $10.00, and if you want to play in one of the tabletop games the organizers have set up: $25.00. Come out and see us, play some TTRPGs, and help support a good cause!
That’s pretty much that for now, I’m excited about March, I’m hopeful we’ll get some more snow, and be on the lookout on our socials and our Discord for announcements of some really cool stuff coming soon, but not too soon.
Love ya’ll! Hope to talk with you all more throughout the month. Don’t be shy: join in us the good mornings. And have an Atomic Time!

Cast Corner: Criticism of Criticism
In my opinion, modern review culture is one of the worst things plaguing practically all media. Have you ever been excited to see a movie or play a game and by the time it came out it had already been review bombed by the internet, sometimes by those who judge it at face value?
Everyone has their opinion, but the purpose of reviews from the past differs drastically from today. One major reason for this is comparison. Because we’ve reached a point where we are continuously seeing remakes, adaptations, sequels, and recycled ideas, comparisons are bound to happen. What we need to realize is that every piece of art has its own backstory, creator, and reasons for being. I often see new games buried in negative reviews, but for every critic, there’s a player who loves them and a developer who worked tirelessly to create something they thought others would enjoy.
This negative discourse has even led to some game developers moving away from popular platforms. Not because they want to hide, but because negativity breeds more negativity. We begin looking for things to complain about, nitpicking each tiny detail because if it’s not perfect, everyone needs to know. Not everything can be perfect; creators simply do what they can to complete their vision.
So next time you see a new movie, read a new book, or play a new game, don't compare it to its predecessor, or tank it just because it’s not your cup of tea. Appreciate it for what it is, watch it with fresh eyes. This is a new creation. Let it stand on its own.
