What to Expect This Year
Happy New Year, my favorite people! 2025 was a crazy year for many, many reasons but especially for Atomic Broadcasting! We debuted new shows and Atomic Radio Theater; had new friends on the shows; went to so many amazing conventions and made a lot new friends through them; and we even started streaming these last couple of months!
The Written & The Lost continues forward into new territory as we come closer and closer to the end of our tale! Records of the Unknown’s season 3 saw a small bit of recording this last year, and we hope to be able to move it along this year, but with our current schedules it may take a bit longer to finish up then anticipated (life gets crazy). The Variety Hour should see a few new mini-series start up this year with people in the GM seat that you haven’t seen run games yet! And some GMs you’ve seen returning again! The Atomic Broadcasting Radio Theater should see at least 2 new shows release on it this year: O.O.P.S. is fast approaching the end of editing, and then we will have just a little bit of polish left before it will see release early this year, barring anything unforseen; and another project written by Olivia and myself is nearly done being scripted and should see release later this year.
For streaming, not only do I plan to continue my Atomic Chats, we are also planning a few different live-streamed actual play productions for the year. This will also give us a great opportunity to invite some new voices onto the network with some amazing guests, alongside the voices you already know and love. Who knows, maybe we’ll do more game show fun like our most recent stream (let us know if you would enjoy more in that vein).
The community has been wonderful! I love to see it growing and to interact with all of you! We plan to have more Discord game nights or hangouts so we can be a little more involved with all of you.
We also already have some conventions planned out for the year ahead, staring this February when we will be at the Neosho Art Con, in Neosho, Missouri. We’ll be at Tremendicon once again here in Springfield, Missouri in the end of May. I have also been invited out to the Origins Game Fair in June for something special, so if you’re in the Columbus, Ohio area or just want to join in on a week full of board games, come see me! We’ll have many more cons to announce later, I’m sure, and some extra special stuff at our convention tables this year! (More details to follow!)
Lastly, we are discussing plans for our Patreon this year. We are very grateful for the support we have already received through our Patreon, and we’d like to reward that, as well as offer more for people who may be on the verge of supporting us. We have plenty of bonus content to put up there, and your support there will help us to make more of the free and wonderful stories we get to tell!

Cast Corner: Thinking on Icarus
As the year turns into anew, I believe everyone takes the time to look back on the past and see what has become of it. Well, this year I spent a lot of time in thought. More so than usual, which is saying a lot, as I'm quite neurotic.
Something that stuck in my brain like an annoying song was the myth of Icarus. An inventor, Daedalus, and a boy, the namesake of the tale, stuck in a tower. The man built wax wings to escape. Fly too high and the wings would melt, too low, and the ocean spray would make them too heavy. The boy, Icarus, flew too high, and his wings melted, and he plummeted to the ocean below and died, Daedalus stays at the right height and lived.
A warning of arrogance and a reminder to be humble. While this lesson is an important one to learn, I, however, have begun to imagine Icarus was smiling when he fell. Sure, he was falling to his untimely demise, but who else flew like that. Who else reached the heights of the heavens and felt the thrill of everything below them, the thrill of the fall even, not Daedalus. It had to be an amazing experience, how could one not be smiling. In the coming year, I think I wish to be more like Icarus than Daedalus.
